I'm not talking about major labels vs. indie labels or "selling out" or being "scene." I'm talking about singing a song with a purpose and using art for something meaningful. I'm talking about the jazz of the Harlem Renaissance, Bob Dylan and John Lennon, and the fusion found in boogaloo. I'm talking about returning art to culture and culture to art, about social progress.
